We Are Wirral!!
Wirral SFA has been in existence for over 100 years in various guises as the evolution of the English Schools FA has developed. Originally, the Wirral was split into a variety of seperate entities such as Birkenhead Schoolboys, etc however for the past couple of decades has been run as a single Association with the sole benefit of providing competitive footballling opportunities for schoolboys & girls to take part in through their individual schools aswell as representative teams. Wirral SFA have reached the National Final of the flagship U15 Inter-Association Trophy on 2 occasions losing narrowly to Aldershot & Farnborough SFA in 2015 before returning to defeat a strong Swansea SFA side in 2017 to become champions for the first time ever!
As of season 2020-21, Wirral SFA will be running representative sides at U10 & U11 in the Primary age groups aswell as U13, U14 (Boys & Girl) & U15 in the secondary age groups.
The secondary age groups compete in the ESFA National Competitions, North West League, Merseyside League & Cheshire Leagues along with the cup competitions that may exist within each of these respective leagues.
Representative sides are made up of talented players who trial from all the secondary schools on our proud little peninsula. We are eternally grateful for the help and co-operation that each of our amazing high schools give us and we work hard to ensure that standards are upheld by all players when being part of this setup.
The officers of Wirral SFA (Secondary) are as follows;
