Season 2020-21 Update
Whilst it has been some time since our last update that doesn’t mean that we have been sitting back, far from it. All our squads that have been in place from last season have been hard at work in pre-season and a few friendlies have been hosted and played. Obviously, times are different and normality not really close to being back but slowly and surely we are all working hard to get the players playing again.
Our new intake of Under 13s (Year 8s) are yet to be selected and further news on this should be announced over the next few days as we are just awaiting the opening of venues before we can share the necessary logistics with the Schools. As a reminder, it is the Schools who nominate the trialists unless that school does not have football as part of their curriculum.
Our thanks go to everyone, coaches, players & parents for adapting to the new processes so ssmoothly so far. Remember to stay safe though!
Covid-19 Update
Wirral SFA can confirm that its boys squads at ages U14 & 15 along with the now previous U15 squad have returned to training adhering to the Government guidance accordingly. It is hoped that the previous U15 squad (now U16 age group) can complete their North West League campaign in some sort of manner however this will be determined by the guidance recieved from the Government, The FA & The ESFA. A further update will be provided in due course following any announcements. In the meantime as always we ask everyone to stay safe!
Congratulations George!!
Wirral SFA are proud and delighted at the news that George Nugent has been rewarded for his efforts and development with his first professional contract at Tranmere Rovers FC. George who played for Wirral SFA from the primary all the way through to the secondary age groups was part of the National Trophy winning squad back in 2018. Well done George and the very best of luck on the next chapter!
Under 13s Crowned NW League Champions!
The North West League have determined their final league placings, a very simple task really made easier by the fact that there were so few games left to play, and this has resulted in our Under 13s being announced as League Winners!!
The squad went through the season unbeaten and only dropping points to a strong Liverpool SFA side and finished on 22 points out of 24. Congratulations go to the whole squad as well as the management team of Paul, Rob & Gino.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has not been possible to have the league trophy presented to the squad but this will be done at the earliest opportunity.

Future International Star!
Wirral SFA are delighted to announce that Scottish FA Under 19 International Luke Robinson, National Cup winning Captain of our U15s in season 2017-18 has been awarded his first professional contract with Wigan Athletic FC. This is a fine reward for not only a talented player but a highly driven & determined one who has worked exceptionally hard throughout his scholarship years to develop himself both on & off the pitch. A pupil of Calday Grange Grammar School and son of long time coach & manager Lee Robinson, we wish you the very best as you move into the next stages of your career!

Covid-19 Update
Further to recent communications with parents via Whats App, Wirral SFA continue to follow the guidelines set out by Government and our governing bodies in respect of training and match play. Any further news will be posted via all means as soon as possible.
